Even Yankees fans can agree with this take.
Former Boston Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon had something to say Thursday that even New York Yankees fans can rally around: ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith doesn’t know what he’s talking about., who needs surgery on a torn meniscus. In Smith’s rant earlier this week, he ripped Trout for his constant injuries, questioning how he “ care of himself” and that “half the time, ya’ll are standing out in the outfield, chewing on pumpkin seeds.
“The guy is more narcissistic than Donald Trump,” Papelbon said. “The fact that he uses his middle name, which ‘A,’ and probably stands for , is such a joke to me. He doesn’t really truly know the game of baseball. His lack of intellect and the way he approaches what he says is just for spite or just to piss off a player, or, you know, get thumbs up or followers or whatever.”
