Red Skoda holds the key to Morecambe shooting mystery after man with weapon fled the scene
Emergency services were called to the Heysham Road in Morecambe at around 4pm on Monday following reports of a firearm discharge. Officers say that a man fired a weapon at a property on the road before fleeing the scene. Nobody was injured during the incident, which officers are now treating as a targeted attack.
"We now know that the offender arrived in the area with another person in a red Skoda Fabia, which has since been located in the Manchester area. Thankfully nobody was injured as a result of the incident. We are also now treating the incident as a targeted attack and we do not believe there is any wider threat to the public.
"We need to identify the two people in the red car and we are asking anybody with information about who they might be to get in touch." “We know last night people in the area had a lot of questions about the incident, and that there was a good deal of speculation on social media. However, we are now in a position to reassure you that we do not believe there is any wider threat to the public.
