Christian Horner insists it is Red Bull ’s “intention” for Sergio Perez to retain his seat for the 2024 season , but lavished praise on Daniel Ricciardo for his “outstanding” drive in Mexico.

Despite his recent woes, the Red Bull team principal backed Perez to turn things around in the remaining three races of the season.

“Sergio has an agreement with us for next year and our intention is for him to be in the car in 2024,” Horner said.“There is no prerequisite that if he doesn’t finish second, he is out of the team. It is not as binary as that. You have to look at the circumstances.
