Britain celebrates VE Day today, May 8. VE Day - otherwise known as Victory in Europe Day - marks 75 years since German forces signed an official surrender, resulting in the end of Nazi occupation in Europe. Due to coronavirus, celebrations will look a little different today, as Brits prepare to enjoy the day at home.The Red Arrows flypast is at 3pm today, to coincide with when Winston Churchill’s victory speech is broadcast.
