Here's a brief look at who has already committed to the Cougars, as well as some players to be on the lookout for in the coming months.

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound tight end has cruised up the recruiting rankings, and he's now the No. 3 recruit in Utah according to 247Sports. Tennessee, Baylor, Auburn and Miami have all come calling lately, but BYU and Utah were among his first scholarship offers. His older brother, Keanu, was a defensive end-turned-offensive lineman for the Cougars from 2018-20.

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound pro-style signal caller is a top-50 prospect in the state of California, but his eye has been drawn increasingly toward Provo since the Cougars extended an offer June 9. Smith also has offers from Oklahoma State, San Diego State, Arizona State and Cal, among others. Other quarterbacks eyeing the Cougars include EJ Caminong, a top-10 prospect from Seattle who decommitted from Washington on June 12 before planning to visit the Cougars; and Orem standout Lance Reynolds, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound son of former BYU offensive lineman and current Tigers head coach by the same name.

"At this moment with other schools pushing hard in my recruitment, we believe it's in the best interests for me to open my recruitment up 100%, giving all schools the opportunity to recruit me and for me to find a best fit for my abilities as a student-athlete and a place to call home,"
