A Temple University student said, 'I could smell the burning rubber from my house.'
The smell of burning rubber and the sight of cars doing donuts in the center of the road could be seen along North Broad Street in the vicinity of Susquehanna Street, near Temple University, the story said.“I could smell the burning rubber from my house,” Temple University student BobbyAdded student Alyssa Wagner, “It sounded like popping sounds - fireworks or gunshots, God forbid.”
In Old City, people were seen drifting and driving recklessly, setting off fireworks and stopping traffic, the story said. Tire marks were left behind on the asphalt. Michael Campo, the owner of Campo’s Steaks, said there was a shooting near his store three weeks ago. He’s fed up. “No one is doing anything about it,” he said.
Police dispersed the crowd early Sunday morning but did not make any arrests or issue any citations, they said.
