A message to the future: Time capsule buried until pupils leave school ⌛

Reception pupils at a Boston school have buried a time capsule at the site of a nearby housing development, which will be dug back up once they leave primary education.

A time capsule filled with items such as pictures, lengths of string displaying the height of the pupils, and ‘about me’ information pages was buried under the soil on which the housing development will sit. “It’s been an amazing opportunity for the children and I’m sure they’ll be really excited to open it up in six years’ time as they finish primary school.”

Charmaine Simei, Director of Customer Experience and Communities at Longhurst Group, said: “We’re delighted to be working with the teachers and pupils at Hawthorn Tree Primary School on this exciting project.
