A Ute wide receiver left the program just before last weekend's rivalry game.
“He‘s chosen to pursue other opportunities,” Whittingham said on Monday. “I guess there’s maybe a little bit of question whether he has a year of eligibility left or not. I’m not real sure on that right now. Or maybe he’ll try to go to the National Football League, but he has chosen — this was about middle of the week last week when that happened — to move on."
Pittman was in his second season with the Utes after transferring from Florida State. The Tampa, Florida, native could not find his footing in Utah’s offense after garnering only nine receptions and 70 receiving yards in two seasons. In his last game with Utah, Pittman finished with two receptions and four receiving yards in a 17-14 loss to Houston.
