'The problem was discovered after the firm received a consumer complaint reporting rubber pieces in the chicken breast nuggets product,' according to a news release.
Nearly 60,000 pounds of chicken breast nuggets are being recalled because they"may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically flexible rubber material," the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Sunday.
Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation, of Waco, Texas, is recalling 4-pound bags of"Pilgrim's Fully Cooked Chicken Breast Nuggets" that were produced May 6 and distributed to stores in four states, according toThe frozen ready-to-eat nuggets have a"Best-By date" of May 6, 2021 and lot code of 0127 and establishment number “P-20728” printed on the retail package. The items were shipped to stores in Arizona, Idaho, Oregon, and Texas.
According to the release, there have been"no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products" and advises anyone concerned about injuries or illness to contact a healthcare provider.
