The A’s rounded out their draft class Tuesday with 10 more picks.

After trading away starters Chris Bassitt and Sean Manaea this spring and making no effort to dismiss speculation that ace Frankie Montas could be the next pitcher out the door, the Oakland Athletics spent the third day of MLB’s amateur draft stockpiling pitching depth.

While late round selections are less likely to eventually become building blocks for a rotation in need of help, the A’s spent Tuesday focused on adding arms as eight of their 10 draft choices were pitchers. The run began in the 11th round Tuesday when Oakland selected left-hander Christian Oppor, a left-hander out of Columbus High in Wisconsin. Oppor was the first high school player from Wisconsin drafted this year and has a fastball that has touched 94 miles per hour on the radar gun according to PerfectGame.
