Hot on the heels of the release of his debut amapiano single, Sizwe Alakine – who rose to fame as Reason – has shared a snippet of his second single under the new name. | Channel24
Just two days ago, Sizwe Alakine, real name Sizwe Moeketsi, announced that the official music for his debut single,In a press statement last month, Moeketsi's record label Warner Music Africa said the song, which was recorded in 2021, became a personal prophecy for him after the loss of his two close friends and industry mates – Riky Rick and Dj Dimples. Riky Rick died by suicide in February, and DJ Dimples died in March following a brain hemorrhage.
Moeketsi introduced his alter ego to the public after 10 years in the industry as Reason. In a video posted on social media by SA HIP HOP, Moeketsi shared some of the struggles he experienced with the brand. According to Moeketsi, the brand experienced"a lot of highs and lows" and was not doing well."At some point, there was a need or feeling to step away from the brand because the brand just wasn’t doing well – the music wasn't selling, the shows weren't moving," he says in part of the video.Reason talk struggles under the 'Reason brand' , music not selling, shows not moving & not even getting 1 Million views on YouTube.
