Just five months before the latest Real ID deadline, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has again extended when travelers will need to have a federally mandated identification card for domestic flights.
The state partners with the Auto Club of Southern California to ease access.
Under the latest update, every traveler 18 or older will need a Real ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card —Advertisementover the past few years that the $1.1-trillion travel industry would be hurt if many Americans are unable to board planes because they had yet to get Real ID licenses.
