The Ronald Reagan High School debate team has advanced to the next round of the 2024-2025 International Public Policy Forum debate competition.

The Ronald Reagan High School debate team has advanced in an international competition with a top prize of $10,000. The North East Independent School District campus is one of 32 schools worldwide to make it to the second round of the 2024-2025 International Public Policy Forum debate competition, according to a news release from the Brewer Foundation of Dallas , a co-sponsor of the event.

It’s the only San Antonio school to advance in the competition and is representing Texas alongside Carroll Senior High School from Southlake, The Future Leaders Program from Dallas and Westwood High School from Austin. Other advancing teams come from across the United States and countries including Singapore, Poland, China, United Arab Emirates, Korea, Canada, India and Slovakia. The top 16 teams will be announced on Feb. 17 and will also compete in a virtual essay contest.
