There’s no clear-cut answer to this conundrum, so we ultimately left it for our readers to decide. On the other end of the spectrum, some of our readers maintained that open is open, and the staff’s job is to respect that. This included not just frustrated customers, but service workers who accept it as part of their job.I have worked in the service industry and it sucked getting last minute orders. But your open hours are your hours. The kitchen should be open unless specified like bars do. If you don’t like that as an employee, find a service job where this isn’t an issue.
