Every week, The Post runs a collection of letters of readers’ grievances — pointing out grammatical mistakes, missing coverage and inconsistencies. These letters tell us what we did wrong and, occasionally, offer praise. Here, we present this week’s Free for All letters.It is time to stop calling these murderers and rejectionists “militants” and call them the terrorists that they are.

The headline also was unclear as to whether the attack was done by or to Hamas. The headline for the Oct. 9 front-page article “” also portrayed Israel as the aggressor and Hamas as a passive actor. While informed readers might not be confused, a casual observer who knows nothing about the situation might be left with an inaccurate assessment of the conflict.
The author could simply have replaced the relative clause with a brief explanatory sentence: “She had accused him of abusing her.” But the incorrect use of “who” grates on the ear.Many people have difficulty deciding between the nominative and objective cases of those words — which results in the clunky diction four paragraphs later when an expert commenting on the case says, “We have a victim that had multiple … incidents, that had reached out for help.
So why was it necessary to cite Francisco’s age? What does her age have to do with her Weed Warrior work? I expect and appreciate details about someone’s age and status as a grandparent when I am reading an obituary. I am distracted by those details in news and feature articles. I think the word I am looking for is “patronizing.”I’m not sure who is responsible for the changing format and organization of the print edition of The Post, but the new editorial page looks great.
I am a 78-year-old African American woman who has been reading The Post for well more than 50 years. People of color and especially Black people are often confronted with unfair stereotypes. I certainly didn’t expect The Post to be advancing such stereotypes.
