Alan Ritchson is now giving his side of the story after a video of the Reacher star fighting with a neighbor in Tennessee spread online. The footage, first published by TMZ, shows Ritchson beating a man identified as his neighbor, Ronnie Taylor, during a street confrontation in Brentwood while two children are nearby.
But according to sources close to the actor, that video does not show how the situation began. TMZ reports that people close to Ritchson claim Taylor “initiated and instigated” the entire incident. Their sources say Ritchson was riding his motorcycle down the street Sunday afternoon with his two children behind him on mini-bikes when Taylor allegedly ran into the road in an aggressive attempt to stop him. Those sources say Ritchson crashed, suffered cuts and bruises, and hurt a finger, then tried to leave before being shoved to the ground again, which is when the fight escalated. According to reports based on his comments to TMZ, he said he confronted Ritchson after the actor had allegedly been riding loudly and at high speed through the neighborhood. Taylor claims that the confrontation turned violent when Ritchson hit him multiple times. Photos published in coverage of the aftermath show visible bruising on Taylor’s face. TMZ reported the incident initially as: "Taylor says he asked Alan, 'Can you f***ing stop this please,' which is when things allegedly turned physical. Taylor says he went to the cops and reported that Alan punched him in the face and kicked him. Taylor claims Alan then fell off his bike, got back up, and tried to run him off. Taylor also told cops that a tussle ensued, during which Alan allegedly hit Taylor in the back of the head. Taylor accuses Alan of hitting him 'at least four times' while he was on the ground, which has allegedly left him with bruises and swelling." Multiple reports say Ritchson has been cooperating with police, no arrests have been made, and neither side has publicly resolved the matter as of the latest updates.
