RCMP have identified the body to be that of 30-year-old Lionel Whitehead of Pelican Lake First Nation. His family has been notified.

RCMP are asking people to report any sightings of or interactions with Whitehead since Sept. 30. In addition, they are asking the public to report any sightings of a white 2017 Chevrolet 1500 truck, with Saskatchewan license plate 964 HHA, since that date. Its identifying features include a different tire/rim on the back driver’s side and black tape over the driver’s side taillight.Article content
RCMP say the truck was reported stolen from Pelican Lake between the evening of Sept. 30 and the morning of Oct. 3. The truck was located near the same trail as Whitehead’s body on Oct. 5 and investigation has determined it may be related to the investigation. The truck may have been in the Pelican Lake First Nation, Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation or Big River First Nation areas in that period.Anyone with information about Whitehead or the white truck should contact RCMP by calling 310-RCMP or their local police service.
