Running back Brenden Brady announces return to UTSA for 2022 season
SAN ANTONIO, TX - DECEMBER 03: UTSA Roadrunners running back Brenden Brady #5 scores a touchdown against Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at the Alamodome on December 3, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. Running back Brenden Brady is planning to return to UTSA for a fifth year, he announced on social media Monday, providing a boost at a position of need for the Roadrunners.
Brady did not participate in spring practice for UTSA this month, posting after graduating in December that he would be “starting my future endeavors” rather than returning to the program. Sophomore running back Kaedric Cobbs suffered a torn ACL earlier this month that will keep him out for the 2022 season, while redshirt freshman De’Anthony Lewis from Judson is yet to fully recover from a knee injury that surfaced early in the fall. Sophomore Jaylon Lott also suffered an ankle injury this spring that puts his 2022 season in jeopardy.
In the days leading up to the spring game, Traylor said UTSA was “probably going to have to get back in the running back market and get a running back in here, or two” prior to the start of fall camp.
