The 27-year-old, who has been on the injured list since April 8 with a strained right hamstring, went through pregame workouts on the field before the start of the Rays-Astros series.Siri was called up for the first time in September 2021 and made such a good impression that he made the Astros' playoff roster, starting two games in the American League Championship Series against the Red Sox.
"He’s a heck of a talent, a heck of a player," Astros manager Dusty Baker said."We enjoyed Siri while he was here, but it seems like he’s found a home. Sometimes, you find a home elsewhere. He’s a heck of a player." Siri hit just .178 in 48 games for the Astros in 2022 and was in Class AAA Sugar Land when he was traded to the Rays as part of a three-team deal that sent Trey Mancini to Houston.
