It's been three seasons since Odell Beckham Jr. totaled 1,000 yards, which is a drought that most receivers don't reverse this late in their career.
Take former Bengals receiver A.J. Green, for example. Green began his career with seven Pro Bowl seasons during which he averaged 1,173 yards per season, and failed to reach 1,000 once . Unstoppable, right?
Same goes for Demaryius Thomas, who was coming off five straight 1,000-yard seasons before finishing his career with 949, 677, and 433. Brandon Marshall was 31 when followed a 1,500-yard, 14-touchdown season in 2015 with 1,078 yards over his final three seasons . And we’re seeing it now with Julio Jones, who hasn’t topped 771 yards in any of the three seasons since he finished a five-year run of All-Pro selections from 2015-19.
The counterpoint would be quarterback play. Thomas’ dip started two years after he stopped catching passes from Peyton Manning. Marshall suffered through one of Ryan Fitzpatrick’s worst seasons right after benefitting from Fitzpatrick’s best.
