Marcus Rashford is relishing being ‘the main man’ at Manchester United after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.
That’s the view of Roy Keane who believes that the forward now looks like ‘a lean, fighting machine’ as he continues to shine under Erik ten Hag.Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr has certainly freed Rashford up to show his true quality Since returning from the World Cup, the 25-year-old has been in the form of his life after scoring 11 goals in 11 matches for the Red Devils, putting United into fourth spot in the table and with one foot in the Carabao Cup final.
Rashford’s return to form is a stark contrast to his fortunes last year when he played second fiddle to Ronaldo, but with the Portuguese star now with Al-Nassr, Keane believes that Rashford is showing his worth.Speaking to Sky Sports after the 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest, Keane said: “We were pitchside when the players came out and he looked lean.“Sometimes it’s about confidence – there is where he’s peaking now.
“Marcus has to say he wants that responsibility to be the main man. It looks like he’s now enjoying that responsibility, which is great to see.”
