Provincial Public Affairs Office Head Katrina Anne B. Balingit said the rare type of green iguana was found and captured at the BENRO Bustos Checkpoint last Saturday afternoon, Feb. 25. She said the green iguana is approximately 45 inches long from snout to tail and has rare features compared to other iguana types.
BENRO Section Chief Beam Joseph Arada believes that the captured green iguana is not a part of the local biodiversity. “Sa tingin ko ay hindi part ng local biodiversity ‘yung nahuling iguana, kakaiba kasi ‘yung itsura niya, hindi common. Sa palagay ko ay alaga ito na nakatakas ,” he said.
