Coty's Sue Nabi and Estee Lauder's Fabrizio Freda were the two highest-paid beauty CEOs in 2023.
Coty’s Sue Nabi returned to the top of the list as beauty’s highest-paid chief executive officer by a long shot in 2023, thanks to a stock allocation of $145.9 million, with graded vesting over several years, subject to conditions. In second position, theCos.’ Fabrizio Freda saw his pay decline for the second year in a row, principally due to a big drop in performance-related incentive pay.
Aside from Nabi’s massive 4,100 percent pay hike, the biggest rises were seen by Inter Parfums Inc.’s Jean Madar and Clorox Co.’s Linda Rendle. At the opposite end of the scale, the biggest declines were seen by Shiseido’s Masahiko Uotani, Saugata Gupta of India’s Marico Ltd., and former Walgreens Boots Alliance head Rosalind Brewer.*Kenvue Inc. is the former consumer health activity of Johnson & Johnson, which went public in a carve-out in May 2023.
