After hanging six goals through two periods on the Penguins Saturday night, the Blueshirts needed just 13:36 of the opening frame to do the same to the Predators on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.

The last time the Rangers did that was Dec. 15, 1999 against the Kings.

Perhaps the most impressive part of the scoring onslaught was the fact that it was six goals on six consecutive shots. Filip Chytil got the party started by snapping an 18-game scoring drought just over two and a half minutes into the game. Skating down the middle and then undressing Predators defenseman Dante Fabbro, Chytil scored his first goal since Feb. 8.

The Rangers celebrate a powerplay goal by Artemi Panarin against the Nashville Predators at 10:01 of the first period at Madison Square Garden on March 19, 2023.Mika Zibanejad and Tyler Motte each recorded one-timers to inflate the Rangers’ lead to 2-0 and 3-0, respectively.Taking a feed from Vincent Trocheck, the Rangers defenseman buried the puck on the two-on-one rush.
