Calvin Bassey has joined Ajax from Rangers in a €23m deal.
Rangers have received a club-record transfer fee for Calvin Bassey after the Nigerian completed his move to Ajax.
The versatile defender joined Rangers from Leicester City on a free transfer two years ago and helped the Scots reach the final of the Europa League last term.He was very impressive throughout the competition and was also a part of the team that won the Scottish Cup in 2021/22. After two fruitful years in Glasgow, Bassey has signed a five-year contract with Dutch giants Ajax, who recently sold Lisandro Martinez to Manchester United.This amount smashes Rangers’ record sale which was previously held by Nathan Patterson, who joined Everton for a fee in the region of £12m in January.From Glasgow to Amsterdam.
