Rangers manager Bruce Bochy was pleased with what he saw on the field Friday, but was waiting to talk with athletic trainer Matt Lucero to get a better feel for whether the club wanted to wait an additional a day to give Seager time to recover from back-to-back work days. Bochy also left open the possibility the Rangers might use him at DH on occasion to help manage the hamstring, at least early on in his return. Against right-handers, the Rangers might DH Seager and play Joc Pederson at first base. Against most right-handers Blaine Crim is expected to play first., but it was particularly notable in Seager’s absence. Over the first nine games he missed, the club was 2-7 and had scored three or fewer runs in all but one game.
