Texas continues to give one of its star players days off early in the season.

Thursday marked the fifth time this year Seager has not started. And when the Rangers have given him days off, they have not used him off the bench or to pinch hit. Seager last sat out the second game of the Rangers’ doubleheader on May 8 at Oakland.
“I don’t think he had a game that was not Corey Seager-like,” Bochy said. “He had to make an adjustment to make a throw. Had only had a play at second base and then he didn’t get a hop on a hard-hit ball. But he homered.
