The Record Sport team discuss all the hot topics in Scottish football.
How do you reckon VAR is performing this season after a bumpy first few months last term? SCOTT BURNS: I am still far from impressed with it. There are too many inconsistencies over decisions. Better calls need to be made from the VAR control room to help our officials and our game.
MICHAEL GANNON: It seems to be a bit smoother but there will always be flashpoints. The Sima decision at Ibrox was a strange one but you’ll never take debate out of the game. GORDON: It’s a stretch to say he’s earned any wriggle room as performances have been awful and the recruitment just as bad. There’s a sense the fans have already decided he’s not the brains of the operation after all.
Joe Hart will sit out the Motherwell clash for Celtic, but is his No.1 role under threat? SCOTT: You have to say in the long run Joe Hart should be looking over his shoulder. I would expect Celtic to make a significant investment in the goalkeeping area either in January or in the summer. MICHAEL: Hart remains the best keeper at the club and he will be straight back in next week.
