LAWYER Ferdinand Topacio, who is now handling the case of Pogo executive Cassandra Li Ong, on Monday sought to show the First Couple have ties as well to Chinese investors in Philippine Online Gaming Operators.
However, the President’s special envoy to China and others in the group photo that Topacio showed said it was nothing more than a random request by restaurant customers to have a photo with the Marcoses.
Techico recalled they and several friends of then non-candidate Marcos were eating out since it was just right after the lockdowns. The host introduced the Chinese to their party, and they then asked “to take a picture with PBBM. After the photo opp, they left, and we continued .” Daza described that night in 2020 as one of those dinners among friends. “We usually go out to eat, with Bongbong and Liza. We had a group that usually meets and eats together in restaurants.”
