Randolph was unable to do those things Friday night and it cost the Ro-Hawks in a 42-28 loss to Edna in a Class 3A Division I regional semifinal matchup at Comalander Stadium . Edna — the top seed from District 15 -3A-I — will now face Llano , the top team from District 13-3A-I , in the state quarterfinals next week.
Taking over on their own 20, the Cowboys promptly went 80 yards in six plays to score on a 10-yard run by quarterback Chase Schubert to give Edna a 21-14 lead with 4:15 to go before halftime. Edna then forced the Ro-Hawks to punt and took over on its own 14 with 2:11 left in the half. The Cowboys went 86 yards in eight plays, taking just more than two minutes to score on a 10-yard pass from Schubert to Keegan Hicks with 6 seconds to go before halftime.
