Sen. Rand Paul explained to Fox Business's Larry Kudlow why inflation is a result of irresponsible government policies, particularly those Democrats advocate, further calling it a"tax on the poor."
"Democrats should have to explain why that’s what they’re for and why their policies have caused this," he told Kudlow."Instead, the Democrats say, 'Oh, it’s greed, somehow people got greedy this year and greed causes inflation.'""It is almost always government's fault," Paul added, citing the"ridiculous government lockdown policy.
The duo then took a shot at the Democrats, claiming they refuse to give up"budgetary and regulatory power that COVID gave them." "Inflation doesn’t just happen. It is a direct result of overbearing, clumsy, dysfunctional government policies," they added. They included a number of options they believe will ease inflation, including sourcing U.S. energy and ceasing"environmental performance art."They concluded that despite numerous solutions, the government will not heed the advice, and"the only way policymakers will give up their inflationary, COVID-era overlordship of the economy in 2022 is if the American people take it from them.
