The city of Rancho Palos Verdes is dedicating nearly its entire annual budget to combatting a severe landslide crisis. The city council approved \$2 million to maintain dewatering wells and repair fissures, bringing the total cost to \$33 million, close to the \$39 million allocated for the city's entire operation. The landslide has rendered dozens of homes uninhabitable, prompting the city to invest heavily in mitigation efforts.
