President Cyril Ramaphosa has set up an inter-ministerial committee to investigate the alleged rampant corruption and fraud linked to the procurement of Covid-19 personal protective equipment tenders

President Cyril RamaphosaPresident Cyril Ramaphosa has set up an inter-ministerial committee to investigate the alleged rampant corruption and fraud linked to the procurement of Covid-19 personal protective equipment tenders.

Headed by Justice and Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola, the committee also includes Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu, Finance Minister Tito Mboweni, Police Minister Bheki Cele, Public Service Administration Minister Senzo Mchunu and Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.

“These lists must be provided to the above committee as a matter of urgency this week,” said the president, adding that the committee would compile a report to be shared with the general public.
