President Cyril Ramaphosa officiated the launch of the Future of Work report.
It's an initiative of the International Labour Organisation's Global Commission on the future of work.Ramaphosa and Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven co-chaired the 27-member Global Commission
It has been tasked with identifying challenges and make recommendations that sustain and protect the livelihood of workers around the world.The recommendations contained in the report seek to strengthen and revitalize the institutions of work. The recommendations are meant to forge pathways to formalization, reduce working poverty and secure dignity, economic security and equality for employees.
The launch of the report takes place alongside the 45th session of the African Regional Labour Administration Council , a gathering of labour ministers and other delegates from 19 African countries under the theme 'Towards Gender Equality in the Future of Work’.
