CAPE TOWN - President Cyril Ramaphosa says African leaders hope to travel on a peace mission to Ukraine and Russia as soon as possible in efforts to resolve the conflict between the two nations.
Ramaphosa said that the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on food security in Africa had spurred on the mission by six African leaders. He said that both leaders were receptive to the offer and were prepared to receive the delegation in both Moscow and Kyiv. "My discussions with the two leaders demonstrated that they are both ready to receive African leaders and to have a discussion on how this conflict can be brought to an end."
