Ram has a new CEO and just switched up its product plans.
Ram, Stellantis' truck brand, is changing up its expected product cadence. The company announced today in a press release that the Ram 1500 Ramcharger extended-range electric vehicle will come to market ahead of the Ram 1500 REV, the company's battery-electric light duty pickup truck.The brand had originally planned to launch the Ram 1500 REV in the first half of 2025.
'Ram has a multi-tier approach with its electrification strategy that aims to meet consumers at various levels, and it needs to get these products to market as soon as possible. Ram's decision to pull the range-extended Ramcharger launch ahead of the all-electric Ram 1500 REV should bode well for the brand while marking a considerable development for Stellantis, the industry and consumer choice,' Paul Waatti, director of industry analysis at AutoPacific told Newsweek.
