Texas State CapitalSAN ANTONIO - Much of the conversation on the latest special session has been about school vouchers.Approving school vouchers is once again in the spotlight and opinions among educators as well as state organizations are split.
“School choice is simply about making sure that parents have the ultimate right to make the best decision for their children,” Director of Government Relations for Texas Values Mary Castle said. “If you care about students walking into a school and getting the services that they need to the quality that they deserve them, then you should care about vouchers,” Adrian Reyna with the San Antonio Alliance said.
“Until you fully invested in neighborhood public schools in every single neighborhood across this state, then we shouldn't have a conversation about vouchers,” Reyna said.
