Rais Yasin remains Tangga Batu Umno division chief

UMNO president Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi yesterday said Paya Rumput assemblyman .“The chairman of the Umno Elections Committee informed me and Rais has been confirmed as Umno head of Tangga Batu division,” he told reporters at the Ramadan Charity Ceremony at Ar-Rahman Mosque, Kampung Pulai, Serkam in Jasin last night.
Zahid said this when asked to comment on a viral letter yesterday that claimed Rais’ victory as Tangga Batu Umno head was annulled. Tangga Batu Umno division secretary Abdul Latip Mohamad was reported to have said he received notification on Rais’ victory being annulled through a letter from central Umno received via WhatsApp at 2.26 this afternoon.
Latip said the letter noted irregularities in the division’s election process, which took place in a hotel recently. – Bernama, March 28, 2023.
