The best chance on Friday for persistent, heavier rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds is along and west of Interstate 95 in the late afternoon, theIn the eastern half of New Jersey, about a tenth to a quarter inch of rain is expected once precipitation pushes in during the afternoon following what should be a dry morning.
After unseasonably cooler temperatures on Thursday, highs will be mostly back in the 80s on Friday, about normal for late June. Overnight temperatures will drop into the low to mid 60s. Flooding in poor drainage areas is also possible, but severe weather this weekend is unlikely. Rain lightens or tapers off into Saturday evening and we should be dry by nighttime.
