Residents of Palawan and Mindanao were told to be vigilant against flash floods and landslides that moderate to heavy rainfall may bring.
Intertropical convergence zone, an area where winds from the northern and southern hemispheres converge, is bringing cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms in Palawan and Mindanao.
“ITCZ mostly affects Palawan, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Region, at SOCCSKSARGEN area,” said Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration Weather Specialist Daniel Villamil in a public weather forecast on Friday, Nov. 25. “Sa mga nabanggit na lugar ay asahan natin na magpapatuloy itong mga kaulapan na posibleng magdala ng kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at kidlat ,” Villamil added, urging residents of the aforementioned areas to be alert during moderate to at times heavy downpour.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will continue to experience generally fair weather in the next 24-hour period. Although fair weather is expected to prevail over most of Luzon and Visayas, Villamil underscored that chances of isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms are still not ruled out.
