For the first time this season, widespread overnight lows in the 30s look possibleANCHORAGE, Alaska - Rain and gusty winds are spread across Southcentral, although winds are steadily declining. The storm responsible continues to weaken as it drifts west, with some of the greatest impacts having been felt through the Aleutians and Southwest Alaska . As the low exits, quieter weather takes hold across the southern Mainland later this week.
Clouds part overnight, gradually returning to sunnier weather through the rest of the week. It’s looking very likely that lows dip into the 30s for the first time this season for much of Southcentral. While a few locations have managed to drop near freezing, many areas of Southcentral have spent much of the month with overnight lows in the 40s.
Rain looks to lighten up and taper off for many throughout the afternoon and evening hours Thursday. This will provide some dry time before rain builds in through the close of this week. Daily highs will likely hold in the low to mid 50s.Some light rain showers occurring this morning, as a trough continues to build through mainland Alaska. Many locations will record anywhere from .10″ to .40″ of rain throughout the day, with some of the heaviest activity occurring through the Denali Borough.
