It’s the start of a new work week and it looks like it will be a bit on the wet side for Monday.
Fortunately, the severe weather risk looks fairly low compared to our previous system which produced hail as it moved through last week.
Monday morning will start off cloudy with some showers around the area, especially to the north and west of Houston as the storm system approaches.By 9 a.m., showers and a few storms will continue to become more widespread across the area.By noon Monday, we will start to see some heavier thunderstorms across the area. We will have to watch any of these just in case one or two decide to become a bit on the stronger side.By 6 p.m.
The immediate Houston area is under a level 1 marginal risk for severe weather. This means one or two storms could become on the stronger side. Any storm that does decide to get a bit stronger would need to be watched for the potential of isolated instances of damaging winds.Projected rainfall totals with Monday’s system are fairly light. Most areas look to see less than half an inch of rain.
