A slight chance of snow exists in the Harrisburg area from Monday evening into Tuesday this week, according to the National Weather Service.

Precipitation - including a slight chance of snow - early this week will be followed by sunnier skies and warmer conditions in the Harrisburg region, with high temperatures hitting the 60s by Friday, the National Weather Service is projecting.

Sunday’s daytime high temperature in the Harrisburg area is expected to be 45 degrees, according to the NWS, with rain arriving Sunday evening and lasting through early Monday afternoon. A slight chance of snow is possible later Monday through Tuesday afternoon, with high temperatures remaining in the 40s, the NWS is predicting.

Partly sunny skies will bring warmer temperatures starting Wednesday, with Friday’s high expected to reach into the 60s, according to the NWS. Nightly lows are expected to dip below freezing on Tuesday and Wednesday nights this week, the NWS is projecting.Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon.Rain, mainly after 8pm. Low around 36. Southeast wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.Rain, mainly before 2pm. High near 43. Southeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon.
