The National Weather Service predicts rain and a low threat of severe storms for North Texas this week, particularly on Tuesday and Boxing Day.
Rain is expected to move into North Texas on Monday night, but most areas shouldn't see precipitation until after sunrise Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service's Fort Worth office. There's a 70% chance of rain for Dallas on Tuesday. The rain will also bring with it a low threat of strong to severe storms for the areas south and east of D-FW, the weather service said. Hail and brief, intense wind gusts are predicted to be the primary threats.
The rain chances clear out Tuesday evening, giving way to a mild, partly sunny Christmas Day. The high in Dallas for Wednesday is 63 degrees. The rain chances return on Boxing Day, with an 80% chance of storms for all of North Texas. The weather service said it is possible a severe weather threat may materialize for Thursday, but its magnitude and location remained uncertain
