Eurovision final not picked intentionally when deciding further strikes, says Union boss
Upcoming rail strike dates were not picked intentionally to collide with the Eurovision finals in Liverpool, according to a Union boss.
Members are striking on the day of the popular song contest after the union’s executive rejected the latest offer aimed at resolving a long-running pay dispute. The strikes will affect 14 train operators across the country on the same day that Liverpool hosts the Eurovision final. My Lynch said: “The reason we named that date is because it’s the last day of our mandate.
“That is the only available date that is available to us within that mandate, that’s why we picked it.
