The rookie running back left 'Monday Night Football' action after suffering an apparent ankle injury.
Raiders running back Sincere McCormick suffered an ankle injury against the Atlanta Falcons and is listed as questionable to return on Monday, the team announced.McCormick was knocked out of bounds and seemingly rolled his ankle after hauling in a pass from Desmond Ridder on first-and-10 at the beginning of the second quarter on 'Monday Night Football.
'Following the play, he was then seen limping off to the locker room with a couple of trainers.*McCormick was ruled officially out by the Raiders in the third quarter.McCormick had rushed seven times for eight yards and caught both of his targets for 17 yards before exiting the game.The Falcons led the ball game 7-0 at the time of McCormick's injury.The undrafted second-year pro was just getting his opportunity to shine as the No. 1 running back after hanging on to the fringe of the franchise for three seasons on the practice squad.Read More: Vikings Legends Honor Randy Moss on MNF Following Cancer AnnouncementIn the last three games, McCormick showed some positive regression, topping off last week's 28-13 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with his best performance of 89 total yards including a pair of catches and 15 carries.Alexander Mattison will step in to lead running back duties with McCormick not able to return. Mattison had begun the season as the team's starter but lost the job after enduring an ankle injury in Week 11.He was activated this week to play for the first time since.Mattison's first season in Las Vegas hasn't been what the Raiders had hoped when they signed him to replace Josh Jacobs last offseason. He's producing over 11 fewer yards than he did last season in Minnesota and has found the end zone four total times.Granted, the 26-year-old was brought on board to complement fellow backfield mate, Zamir White, in what was to be a transition year for the franchise.White hasn't been any more efficient, generating 2.8 yards per carry.
