The Las Vegas Raiders have been predicted to make a shocking decision on Pete Carroll following the rough 2025 season.

The Las Vegas Raiders are 2-7, and the team is appearing to be headed for another reset. The issue is that Pete Carroll and Chip Kelly were brought in to help right the ship, but neither has done a great job.

This has led to the team receiving a prediction that would lead to a shocking decision on Carroll. More news: Micah Parsons Has Bold Words for Packers Following Ugly Loss to Eagles Oftentimes, it takes a season or more for new head coaches to implement their systems. Sometimes it does not, as Mike Vrabel has completely turned the New England Patriots around. Aaron Glenn with the New York Jets is one of those situations where he will need another year to truly determine if he is the right man to turn the organization around. The issue is that the Raiders might be far more impatient, as the team has not had a winning record since 2021. With Carroll struggling to get the Raiders over the losing hump, he may find himself out of a job come 2026. At least that could be the case, according to a prediction from CBS Sports’ Cody Bejamin. Head coach Pete Carroll of the Las Vegas Raiders looks on from the sideline during the game against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium on September 07, 2025 in Foxborough, Massachusetts. More news: Raiders Fire Assistant Coach Amid Disastrous 2025 Season A new hot seat ranking was released, and Carroll tops that list. It is not shocking to believe the Raiders would move on after one season, especially given their need for immediate results. “Las Vegas thought it was buying long-awaited stability when it poached Carroll from quasi-retirement this offseason, pairing the former Super Bowl champion with fellow big names in minority owner Tom Brady and ex-Seattle Seahawks breakout Geno Smith. Instead, Carroll’s short-sighted approach has left the Raiders looking like his age . He didn’t necessarily inherit a world-beating lineup, but his commitment to aging familiar faces alongside maligned coordinator Chip Kelly could convince Brady, principal owner Mark Davis and Co. to make a quick pivot to longer-term leadership,” Benjamin wrote. There is a big point here, in that Carroll’s decision to hire Kelly and stick with Geno Smith could be the biggest reasons the Raiders brass would choose to move on after just one season. Carroll is a wonderful coach, but he is loyal to a fault. Las Vegas has many issues on the roster, and sticking with Smith could be a main reason why the offense is struggling. Smith is a consummate veteran, but that does not mean the Raiders shouldn’t explore other options. The issue is that the only other healthy quarterback on the roster is Kenny Pickett. Aidan O’Connell remains on IR, but maybe Pickett can unlock some juice for the offense to get back on track. There are multiple issues the Raiders have to address in 2026, and though firing a head coach after one season is not the smartest route to take, the organization may need to take more swings at other options until they get things right.
