Rafael Nadal has been handed a daunting first-round match against Alexander Zverev in what could be his last appearance at the French Open

Fourteen-time champion is unseeded at Roland Garrosin a heavyweight first-round contest at the French Open ahead of what may be his final appearance at Roland Garros, a tournament he has won a record 14 times.

While Zverev is not required to attend the trial, and in Rome he said that he will not, the judge could theoretically summon him to appear there if he is given one week’s notice. Zverev’s trial is scheduled to take place on two dates during the, plus 7 June, and then two dates during Wimbledon; 5 and 12 July. Eight dates in total are currently scheduled.
