Birthday celebrations for WW2 veteran George Davies, who turns 100 on July 11, at the territorial army compound in Nelson Street, Bolton
Mr Davies grew up in south east London but has since spent many years living in Bolton where he has been deeply involved with the local Air Training Corps squadron based on Nelson Street. As his 100th birthday approached on July 11 the squadron threw him a special celebration at the compound with people travelling far and wide to join him.
George travelled all over the world with the RAF before retiring in 1981, having moved to Bolton the decade before. He has been active in life and the Air Training Corps squadron ever since - even teaching computer skills to others until around 10 years ago.
