An East Anchorage couple who had their prized moose racks stolen have had them returned.
Michael Blahut — the hunter who harvested the moose — says that a local shop saw his story on Alaska ’s News Source. The shop owner reached out to Barney’s Sports Chalet to claim a $2,000 reward for information regarding the moose racks .“ can only be thankful for Kevin at Barney’s for being the point of contact when an antler dealer called after purchasing these antlers from the thieves,” Blahut told Alaska ’s News Source.
“On a side note, shame on all the antler dealers for buying antlers and not asking a single question about where the antlers came from. You all deserve to be out of business for being the center of these disgusting acts. Without you, none of these thieves would have anywhere to sell our stolen property.”
The racks measured roughly 71.5 by 62 inches.
